Savar, Sept. 21 -- member probe body has been formed to look into the fire at a garment factory in Ashulia of Savar that claimed lives of eight people.

Savar Fire Service and Civil Defence formed the committee on Monday.

Eight people were killed and 35 others injured when a fire broke out in front of Preeti Composite factory in Jamgara of Ashulia around 6:45 pm on Sunday.

The fire broke out as a gas cylinder exploded with a big bang while being unloaded from a covered van.

The injured were taken to different hospitals.

The firefighters recovered six bodies from the spot on Sunday night while Joynab Begum, 55, who was standing in front of tailoring shop, died on the spot when a gas cylinder fell on her during the explosion, said Tariq...
