Sylhet, Sept. 26 -- A cleaner was injured after an Ansar member opened fire to scare away birds at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet on Saturday morning.

The injured cleaner, Rubel Ahmed, was rescued and taken to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he was admitted. His condition was not considered serious.

The incident occurred on the airport runway around 10am.

According to airport sources, Ansar member Mozammel was on patrol when he fired his shotgun to scare away birds. The bullet missed its target and struck Rubel, who was standing nearby, in the waist.
