Lakshmipur, Aug. 29 -- year-old boy was stabbed to death by a man after he refused to pluck betel nuts in Lakshmipur Sadar upazila on Saturday evening.

The deceased, Rishad, was the son of Shahed Hossain of Fatu Bepari Bari in Char Ruhita union. The accused, Rubel, 35, is the son of Milon of the same area.

According to the victim's family, Rubel asked Rishad to pluck betel nuts at around 6:30pm.

When Rishad refused, an enraged Rubel stabbed him in the abdomen multiple times. Rishad died before reaching the hospital.

Wahid Farbez, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lakshmipur Sadar Model Police Station, said the victim's body has been kept in the morgue, and drives are underway to apprehend Rubel.
