, Oct. 1 -- The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Thursday approved proposals to procure a total of 260,000 metric tonnes of urea, DAP and TSP fertilisers at a combined cost of around Tk 2,106 crore.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury presided over the meeting held at Secretariat.

Of the approved purchases, 150,000 tonnes will be urea, 80,000 tonnes DAP and 70,000 tonnes TSP fertiliser.

The committee approved the purchase of 30,000 tonnes of bagged granular urea from Karnaphuli Fertiliser Company Ltd (KAFCO), Bangladesh, as the third lot of the 2026-27 fiscal year.

The procurement will cost Tk 162.39 crore, with the price set at $438.125 per tonne, including FOB price of $433.125 and a bagging charge of $5....
