Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- Consumers Association of Bangladesh urged authorities to take strict legal measures against parties blocking a government-led market initiative and imposing unjustified price increases on essential goods, highlighting growing concerns over consumer protection and market regulation.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the consumer rights body strongly protested the incident that took place during a monitoring drive at Moulvibazar in the capital.
