, Aug. 10 -- Three people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a bus and a pick-up van on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Rokonpur in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Mashud Ahmed, son of Sufi Mia, Abul Kashem, 50, son of Moyna Mia, and Fahim Mia, 30, all from Nabiganj upazila.

The accident occurred in the morning when a bus of 'Lucky Paribahan' rammed into the vegetable-laden pick-up van while it was heading towards Digambor Bazar in Bahubal upazila, leaving one dead on the spot and four others injured, said Jashim Uddin, a sub-inspector of Sherpur Police Station.
