Brief exchange in Parliament over revised proceedings after Jamiruddin Sircar's death
Sangsad Bhaban, July 12 -- A brief exchange took place in Parliament on Sunday after Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni said he was not informed of a change in the day's proceedings following the death of former Speaker and former acting President Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar.
At the beginning of the sitting, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad announced the death of the former Speaker, saying the parliamentary family was deeply saddened by the loss and extended its condolences to his family.
The Speaker said tributes to late Jamiruddin Sircar would be paid later during the sitting before the House was adjourned.
