Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday brought back 24 Bangladeshi fishermen who had been detained by Myanmar's Arakan Army in the Bay of Bengal.

A BGB delegation received the fishermen from the Arakan Army at the zero line of the Naf River and later brought them to the Teknaf jetty.

The returning fishermen are currently undergoing identity verification and other necessary formalities in coordination with the local administration and law enforcement agencies.

They will be handed over to their families after completion of the procedures, BGB said in a press release.
