Dhaka, Sept. 1 -- Bangladesh Bank and Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC have signed a Tk 3,000 crore refinancing agreement aimed at building an effective and dynamic agriculture value chain across the country.

The primary objective of the scheme is to boost agricultural production, preservation, processing, marketing, and supply chain development, while generating rural employment.

The agreement was signed at the head office of Bangladesh Bank on Monday in the presence of central bank Deputy Governor Dr Md Kabir Ahamed, and Chief Spokesperson and Executive Director Arief Hossain Khan, according to a press release.
