Dhaka, Aug. 20 -- powered rickshaw driver died after being electrocuted while charging his vehicle at a garage in the capital's Hazaribagh area on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 55, son of Abdur Rakib of Naogaon district. He had been living on Maneshwar Road in Hazaribagh.

Garage owner Md Arif Mia said Rahman was charging his vehicle at the garage around 2:15pm when he accidentally came into contact with an electric wire and sustained serious injuries.

He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where an on-duty doctor declared him dead around 3:15pm, he said.
