Bangladeshi youth shot dead by Indian Khasi men near Sylhet border
Sylhet, July 11 -- A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by Indian Khasi men after crossing the border into India's Meghalaya state near the Sylhet frontier early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Minhaj Uddin, 25, son of Komor Uddin of Bhadeshwar village in West Jaflong Union under Gowainghat upazila.
According to local sources, Minhaj crossed the Sonarhat-Lakhat border at around 3 am and entered an area near Lakhat Station in the Indian state of Meghalaya.
He was shot by Indian Khasi men. His companions brought him back to Bangladesh in critical condition, but he died on the way to hospital.
