Dhaka, Sept. 25 -- State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam has outlined Bangladesh's strengthened legal and institutional measures to prevent violence against women and girls.

Addressing the "G77 and Emerging Partners Ministerial Roundtable on Technology Facilitated Violence against Women and Girls", held at UN Headquarters in New York on the margins of the 81st UN General Assembly recently, she also highlighted some measures, including faster investigation and trials, legal aid, social protection, rehabilitation, safe shelter and psychosocial support.

Shama also referred to the recently launched women-only Pink Bus service in Bangladesh to promote safer public transport, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
