Dhaka, July 2 -- Highlighting a significant momentum in the country's push toward a cashless society, the nationwide mandatory rollout of the unified "Bangla QR" payment standard recorded 77,165 transactions amounting to Tk22.02 crore over a span of just two days, central bank data showed.

The transactions were registered on June 30 and July 1, 2026, marking the official eve and day of the central bank's deadline for financial institutions to fully transition to the standardized system.
