Dhaka, Nov. 7 -- At least seven Bangladeshis were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident in Saudi Arabia early Saturday, officials said.

The bodies of the seven Bangladeshis have been kept at the morgue of a local hospital, while the 15 injured are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

They were travelling by bus from Madina to Jeddah when the accident occurred on a highway, reportedly after a truck rammed into their bus from behind.

The Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah has formally requested the Saudi authorities to provide detailed information about the casualties and the circumstances surrounding the accident.
