Sangsad Bhaban, April 1 -- Ruling party lawmaker from Noakhali-2 Zainul Abdin Farroque on Wednesday brought an adjournment motion in Parliament to discuss the implementation process of the July National Charter.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad accepted his motion for discussion and set a two-hour time for the discussion on April 5.
Announcing the acceptance of the motion, the Speaker told Parliament that a rare precedent has been set in the parliamentary history of Bangladesh.
"This is the first time in 53 years that adjournment motion brought by a member of the Treasury Bench or the government party has been accepted for discussion," he said.
