Dhaka, Aug. 8 -- Opposition Leader and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Saturday called upon his party men, including Islamic scholars, to avoid provocation and speak the truth with wisdom and restraint.

"None of us should create disorder by making provocative statements on our own. We have to be careful of it. Rather, speak the truth with good gesture and wisdom," he said, while addressing an event in the city.

The Central Ulema Chapter of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami arranged an Ulema Representative Conference titled "Not disagreement, but unity to build the future of Bangladesh" at the IDEB Bhaban.

The Jamaat chief said, "We do not want the victory of Jamaat-e-Islami; we rather want the victory of humanity."
