Dhaka, Sept. 20 -- State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir on Sunday requested Algeria to enhance collaboration in the field of energy to ensure long term energy security of Bangladesh.

The State Minister emphasised the importance of collaboration in the field of fertilizer to ensure food security of Bangladesh.

The issues were discussed when Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh Abdelouahab Saidani paid a courtesy call on the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassador congratulated him on assuming the office of the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and both sides discussed views on strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Algeria.
