Acting CID chief Ali Akbar Khan applies for voluntary retirement
Dhaka, June 4 -- Acting Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) DIG Ali Akbar Khan has applied for voluntary retirement and pre-retirement leave (PRL) under Section 44 of the Government Services Act, 2018.
The information was disclosed in a letter signed by CID Special Superintendent of Police AAM Humayun Kabir on Thursday.
According to the letter, Ali Akbar Khan has applied to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the proper channel seeking one year of PRL from July 2, 2026, ahead of his voluntary retirement.
Earlier on Monday, the Police Headquarters issued a notification making him acting chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
