Dhaka, April 9 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is set to deliver its verdict today in a crimes against humanity case filed over the killing of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) student Abu Sayed during the 2024 July uprising.
The three-member ICT-2, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Mazumder, on 5 March fixed April 9 for delivering the verdict in the case.
On June 30, 2025, the ICT took cognisance of charges against 30 people, including former BRUR vice chancellor Hasibur Rashid and former Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RMP) commissioner Md Moniruzzaman.
They face charges of murder, attempted murder, superior command responsibility, abetment, and complicity in crimes against humanity.
