, Oct. 10 -- year-old boy drowned while bathing with friends in a pond in Sejia village of Maheshpur upazila, Jhenaidah on Friday afternoon.

The deceased, Yakim Hasan, was son of Rezaul Islam of the locality.

Yakim went to the pond near his house around 2pm with friends. He drowned while playing in the water.

His friends informed his family, who rushed to the spot and recovered his body. The tragedy has left the family in deep grief.

Maheshpur Police Station OC (Investigation) Sazzadur Rahman confirmed the incident.
