, Oct. 19 -- The authorities concerned of six garment factories in the Ashulia area of Savar, have declared a general holiday amid unrest of workers.

Earlier on Thursday, the authorities of Fashion Forum Garments of IDS Group in Jamgarah declared holiday for the day as the workers staged demonstration demanding arrears payment.

On Sunday morning, the workers of Fashion Forum again gathered in front of their factory and blocked the road.

A tense situation has been prevailing over the issue in the area.

Apprehending further unrest, the authorities of High Fashion, FNF, Trade Fashion and Priti Group declared a holiday.
