, March 10 -- Following the formal launch of the the government's Family Card programme in the capital, 378 women of Ward No. 9 under Ishwardi Union in Lalpur upazila, Natore, received the cards on Tuesday.
The replica cards were handed over at a ceremony held at Gauripur Government Primary School playground in Lalpur upazila by State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin Putul.
Immediately after the national launch, the beneficiaries in Natore received Tk 2,500 on their mobile phones.
Recipients like Rupa Begum and Keya Begum of Gauripur village expressed their excitement, saying the money would help meet medical expenses and improve their family's livelihood.
