, April 23 -- A tribunal in Jamalpur on Thursday sentenced three people to death for violating a housewife after abduction in 2023.

Judge of Jamalpur Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 Muhammad Abdur Rahim handed down the punishment.

The condemned convicts are Bulbul Ahmed, 47 of Khupibari village, Kalam alias Makku, 52, of Pathalia Naubhanga Char village and Ruku, 57.

According to the prosecution, the convicts picked up the victim from Naobhanga Char village in the district town, and took her to the house of Bulbul, one of the convicts, by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on May 14, 2023.

Later, they tried to marry off the woman to Ruku forcibly.
