, Oct. 7 -- A Mymensingh court on Wednesday sentenced three siblings to death and 10 others to life imprisonment for killing a farmer over a land dispute in 2015.

Judge of the Mymensingh Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 Shamsuddin Ahmed handed down the punishment.

The condemned convicts are Mozammel Haque Swapan Mia, 46, Apon Mia, 43, and Ripon Mia, 41-- three sons of Abu Bakar Siddique of Char Laxmidia in Nandail upazila of the district. Of them, Ripon was tried in absentia.

The lifers are Abu Bakar Siddique, 71, his son Kanchon Mia, 36, Rubel, 56, Pervez, 31, Mofazzal Hossain, 56, Kashid, 59, Al Amin, 31, Sumon Mia, 36, Noyon Mia, 29, and Ashadul, 29. Ashadul was tried in absentia.
