, March 17 -- Detectives arrested three people along with illegal firearms, bullets, locally made weapons and yaba tablets during a drive in Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The raid was carried out in Chhoto Makhati area under Mollakandi union, where police recovered a foreign pistol, a locally made pipe gun and 350 yaba tablets.

At a press briefing, Superintendent of Police Md Menhajul Alam said the drive was conducted at a house in the area around noon.

During the operation, Md Russell Sikdar (43) was detained with 50 yaba tablets. Later, house owner Shuvo Gazi (37) was arrested with 300 yaba tablets.
