Brahmanbaria, Aug. 16 -- At least 25 people were injured in a violent clash between two local groups in the Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Saturday morning reportedly triggered by a dispute over a Facebook status.

The incident occurred around 10 am in the Hajipur area of Harashpur Union.

Tensions escalated after an altercation between two people from the Akshi and Pathan groups, stemming from a Facebook post concerning the allocation of seats in three unions of Bijoynagar upazila.

According to locals, Dana Mia of the Akshi group allegedly assaulted 70-year-old Arju Mia and his daughter Aklima Begum on Wednesday night.
