Chattogram, July 19 -- Two farmers were killed after being electrocuted while planting paddy seedlings in a waterlogged field in Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Md Yunus, 35, son of late Mahabubul Alam, and Md Hasem, 50, son of late Abul Kashem. Both were residents of Mirerkhil Kargipara under Ward No. 8 of Bhujpur Union.

The incident occurred in a paddy field south of Jannat Brick Field in the Joginighata area in the afternoon.
