India, Oct. 27 -- America's air travel chaos is expected to worsen as the federal shutdown enters its fourth week, with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warning that air traffic controller shortages are already causing flight delays and disruptions at major airports.
Speaking at Philadelphia International Airport, Duffy said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had recorded 22 shortage "triggers" on October 25, 2025 - one of the highest counts since the shutdown began on October 1.
