India, May 27 -- A short 15-minute drive from Windsor Castle, that centuries-old residence of the British royal family, lies a plot of U.S. soil, given to the American people by Queen Elizabeth II. Upon it sits a memorial to President Kennedy.

"There stands a stone, by the River Thames at Runnymede where Magna Carta was signed in the year 1215. This stone records that an acre of that ancient and historic site was given to the U.S.A. by the people of the United Kingdom, to symbolize our shared resolve in support of liberty, and in memory of President John F. Kennedy," King Charles III explained during his historic address to Congress during the royal state visit back in April.
