India, Aug. 12 -- A recent change to US immigration policy could have significant consequences for thousands of children of H-1B visa holders, potentially jeopardising their path to a Green Card. On August 8, 2025, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) updated its rules for calculating a child's age under the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA). This update, while intended to standardise the Green Card application process for families both inside and outside the US, introduces a new method that may cause many children to "age out" of eligibility.
