India, Aug. 1 -- Heading to Mussoorie soon? According to a new rule implemented by the Uttarakhand tourism department starting July 30, 2025, you must register online using your Aadhaar card before arrival. This mandatory protocol will be rolled out with some flexibility to ease the tourists into the process during the initial phase, and the guest registration during check-in will be handled by all accommodation owners, including hotels, guest houses, and homestays, via a dedicated state portal.

The decision follows a significant increase in visitors to Mussoorie, with over 2.1 million tourists arriving in 2024, nearly double the number from 2022.
