India, Oct. 19 -- China's proposal to impose export controls on 12 solar manufacturing technologies could affect the global solar industry. The proposed measures include restrictions on advanced technologies such as TOPCon, HJT and XBC, along with bans on certain technologies used in thin silicon wafers, perovskite cells and polysilicon production. India is expanding its domestic solar manufacturing capacity to reduce dependence on China for critical technologies and equipment. With public consultation on the proposed controls open until November 15, the move could create challenges for Indian manufacturers seeking advanced production technologies while influencing the country's efforts to strengthen its solar supply chain.
