India, Aug. 18 -- Sudarshan Chemical Industries is making a move that looks administrative on paper but could be strategically important for the way investors view the group. The company has approved the acquisition of 1.62 crore shares, representing 70.26% of Sudarshan Colorants India, currently held through its overseas subsidiaries.

Once completed, the stake will sit directly with Sudarshan Chemical Industries rather than through multiple layers of subsidiaries. The timing is interesting because the pigment business is already showing a meaningful improvement in profitability, while the company continues to integrate the global pigment operations acquired from the Heubach Group.
