India, Oct. 9 -- When a stock goes up many times in just 12 months, most investors either jump in late or run away completely. Both can hurt. The smarter way is to look at what's actually behind the move, and whether the business can keep up with the price. Two names that caught the market's attention recently are Sterlite Technologies and Sigma Advanced Systems.

Sterlite Technologies is trading around Rs982.50, compared with its 52-week low of Rs84.65, representing a gain of around 1,060% from the bottom. Sigma Advanced Systems is at Rs1,036.15, against a 52-week low of Rs139.30. That's a gain of roughly 640% from the low. Market cap is about Rs50,506 crore for STL and Rs19,635 crore for Sigma.
