India, Aug. 16 -- Women grassroots leaders from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana highlighted the role of women's leadership in strengthening local governance and challenging traditional gender stereotypes at the We Women Want Conclave, organised by NewsX and The Sunday Guardian Foundation. Speaking during a session on grassroots governance, the women sarpanches shared their experiences of overcoming social resistance, improving education and sanitation, promoting women's safety and creating opportunities for girls in their villages.
