India, June 11 -- Severe thunderstorms sweeping across Wisconsin have left a trail of disruption, knocking out electricity for more than 50,000 customers overnight while strong winds, heavy rain and fast-moving storm cells brought down power lines across multiple counties, plunging neighborhoods in darkness and triggering urgent restoration efforts from utility crews.

As of the latest utility reports, more than 41,000 Alliant Energy customers were without power at the peak of the storm response.
