India, July 13 -- Former India batter Rahul Dravid has reportedly emerged as one of the leading candidates to become England's next Test head coach following the dismissal of Brendon McCullum. England decided to make a change after a disappointing run in red-ball cricket, which ended with a 2-1 home Test series defeat to New Zealand.

According to reports, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has included Dravid on a shortlist of potential replacements alongside former England coach Andy Flower and ex-spinner Richard Dawson. While McCullum's tenure as Test coach has come to an end, he is expected to remain in charge of England's white-ball teams as the ECB begins its search for a new leader ahead of next year's Ashes series.
