Why is Sanjiv Goenka Selling a Stake In Lucknow Super Giants? IPL Valuation Boom Explained
India, Aug. 1 -- Billionaire industrialist and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka, who leads RPSG Group, is planning to sell a 5 to 10% stake in the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants. The Kolkata-based business group acquired the Lucknow team in October 2021 for a record price of 7090 crore rupees.
While captain Rishabh Pant's side finished at the bottom in 10th position in IPL 2026, the overall financial value of Indian Premier League teams has rocketed to new highs. Sanjiv Goenka wants to take advantage of this massive price rise by selling a small share to global investors while keeping total control of the franchise.
