India, July 11 -- Wimbledon, the oldest Grand Slam tournament in tennis history, is making a major change to one of its most iconic traditions by moving the start time of its singles finals. For more than a century, both the men's and women's singles finals were scheduled for 2 PM local time after the tournament began in 1877. However, from 2025 onwards, Wimbledon shifted the finals to a 4 PM BST start, with organisers aiming to improve global television reach, accommodate international audiences, and create a smoother matchday schedule.
