India, Aug. 3 -- Ever since Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana trailer was unveiled, the ambitious mythological epic has dominated conversations online. While the visuals, scale and performances have largely received praise, one opinion that has grabbed attention comes from Shiv Sagar, grandson of legendary filmmaker Ramanand Sagar, whose 1987 television series Ramayan remains one of India's most iconic adaptations of the epic.

Reviewing the trailer, Shiv appreciated the film's grand visuals and several casting choices but admitted he was unsure about Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram. According to him, the actor carries "baggage" from his previous roles, particularly Animal which could influence how audiences perceive the character.
