India, July 14 -- The Bahamas is mourning the heartbreaking loss of several members of one of its most loved music groups after a tragic plane crash claimed multiple lives. Five members of Da Pond Band were among the 10 people killed when a Cessna aircraft crashed on Friday, July 10, while travelling to San Andros for a scheduled performance.

According to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority of the Bahamas and local reports, the aircraft went down at around 1 PM local time before reaching its destination.

The musicians were on their way to perform at the 31st annual All-Andros and the Berry Island Regatta, a popular festival that celebrates Bahamian culture through music, food and boat racing.
