India, June 1 -- Indian music industry has suffered another heavy blow with the passing away of one of the most loved singers of all time. Veteran playback singer Suman Kalyanpur, famous for immortal numbers like Na Na Karte Pyaar Tumhin Se and Tumne Pukara Aur Hum Chale Aaye, breathed her last yesterday evening at her home in Mumbai due to age-related problems. She was 89 years old.

Speaking to Press Trust of India, Mangala Khadilkar, who had written the critically acclaimed Marathi biography of the singer titled Suman Sugandh, said, "Suman ji passed away at around 8 pm yesterday night at her home in Lokhandwala due to old age. She left peacefully. Over the past few days, she used to listen to her own songs."
