India, Aug. 30 -- Jackie Glass, the former Nevada judge who became nationally known after sentencing O.J. Simpson and later hosted the courtroom television series Swift Justice, has died at the age of 70. Glass died in Las Vegas on Friday, August 28, according to reports, while her daughter Rachel Wolfson confirmed the death through an emotional social media tribute.

Glass built a long career in Nevada's legal system before moving into television. She served on the Eighth Judicial District Court for more than eight years and retired from the bench in 2011. Her 2008 sentencing of Simpson following his conviction in the Las Vegas armed robbery case later became the defining moment of her public career.
