India, Sept. 16 -- Jeanie Poling, a beloved country and bluegrass musician who spent more than four decades performing and building San Francisco's music community, has died. She was 67. Poling died on August 26, 2026, after living with cancer for several years. Her husband, Chuck Poling, said she died from pneumonia after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

Her death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from musicians, friends and members of the San Francisco bluegrass community. But Poling's legacy extended far beyond her own performances.
