India, Oct. 25 -- Veteran Tamil chef and television personality K. Damodharan, popularly known as Chef Damu, died on Sunday, October 25, at the age of 72 following health complications, according to media reports. Best known to television audiences as a judge on the popular cooking reality show Cooku With Comali, he built a decades-long career spanning professional kitchens, culinary education and television.

Reports said Chef Damu had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. His death marks the loss of a prominent figure who helped bring traditional Tamil cooking and professional culinary expertise to a wider audience.
