India, July 3 -- The life and work of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra have once again come into focus following the release of Satluj, the latest film starring Diljit Dosanjh. The film revisits one of Punjab's most controversial chapters, the disappearance and killing of Khalra after he exposed alleged illegal cremations carried out during the state's militancy era.

At the center of the case was Ajit Singh Sandhu, then Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Tarn Taran, who was named as the principal accused in Khalra's abduction.
