HBO's highly anticipated Harry Potter television adaptation has officially found its Peeves the Poltergeist with actor and comedian Peter Serafinowicz stepping into the role. For longtime fans of the wizarding world, the casting is especially exciting because Peeves never made it into the original film series despite being a memorable character in J.K. Rowling's books.

The official account of Harry Potter on Instagram shared the news via post, sharing, "Got your conk! Peter Serafinowicz has been cast as Peeves the Poltergeist in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, premiering this Christmas."
