India, Aug. 12 -- Nicholas Hoult is set to enter the wizarding world. The British actor has reportedly joined HBO's Harry Potter Season 2, where he will play Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor introduced in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Deadline reported.

The second season will follow the events of the second Harry Potter book while the first season, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, is scheduled to premiere around Christmas. Filming for Season 2 is expected to begin this fall.
