India, Aug. 12 -- N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, announced on Wednesday, August 12, that he will not seek another term at the helm of the Tata Group's holding company. He will, however, continue as chairman until his current tenure ends in February 2027.

Chandrasekaran's announcement has brought renewed attention to his remarkable journey from a farming family in rural Tamil Nadu to the top of one of India's largest business groups. His career with the Tata Group spans nearly four decades, beginning with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 1987.
