India, July 30 -- India's Murali Sreeshankar delivered an impressive performance to secure the silver medal in the men's long jump at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with a best leap of 8.09m. Sreeshankar produced a strong final attempt in pursuit of Jamaica's Tajay Gayle but fell just short of the gold-medal mark. Gayle claimed the Commonwealth title with a winning jump of 8.15m, while Scotland's Stephen Mackenzie delighted the home crowd by taking bronze with 8.08m. Another Indian athlete, Lokesh Sathyanathan, finished fifth after registering a best jump of 7.97m.
